TechCrunch has reported that Automattic provider of the WordPress open-source blogging software and spam filter Akismet, has raised $29.5M in a Series B round of financing led by True Ventures. Other participants in the round include The New York Times, Polaris Ventures, and Radar Ventures.
Web site ReadBurner aggregates popular Google Reader Shared Items, turning Google Reader sharing into an action similar to bookmarking a page on Del.icio.us or voting for an article on Digg. The website aggregates shared items from Google Reader displaying those that have been shared on their pages. By adding your shared items URL to ReadBurner, sharing feeds will also give that link some juice on ReadBurner so it’s like a simple way to contribute to a social bookmarking service without really adding a step to your bookmarking.
